Hey!, don't forget the ratchet type 3Pt adjuster. I asked my dealer to throw in the 2910's adjuster on my 2710 and he said no problem. The other stuff just didn't look worth the extra $$$. The Kubota brochure says 23Lbs more for the 2910. FYI a BL2560 front blower 3 years old sold for $500 at a local auction. Great price but I woulda had to buy all new brackets to get it on my B2710. A 3Pt winch? Didn't old military vehicles have a shaft/pto driven winch on the front bumpers? It would be some work.

JimR, will you be mowing? Lighter could be better for that.
Brady, please do us all a favor and take one of those B2910's or any other model fully prep'd to the nearest scales and weight it. You could once and for all put to rest all the rumor and contradiction(sp) on the internet. Thanks!

Hey DP, is the "surge" most noticable after a stop then a range change? I too have felt this "jerk" on my B2710. I mostly notice it when going from forward to reverse or visy versa after I change ranges in the transmission and mostly from high to low range just after starting to move. The difficult part is that in 30 hours of use I have felt it about only 5 times! I would describe it like this; from a dead stop selecting the range then I start moving sllooooowww, traveling about 2 to 5 inches the trans will jerk to a slightly differant (just noticable) speed with no change in the pedal. I have never felt the jerk when accelerating quickly. Sound like anything you felt?

A local auction has a 1991 B1750 4WD Hydro with loader w/1600 hours on it.<br>What is it worth? Since I already own a Kubota, some friends are asking me these questions and I can only refer them to this board.<br>Just for fun, what do you guess it will sell for?<br>Also selling are a deck, blower, back blade, post hole digger, york rake.

Hey Murf, that is the best explination of why GST is a preferance. Like Bird, I am an HST fan for loader/mowing work for residential use but I see your point clearly. What I thought was interesting was your last comment on speed, "whereas with the GST, no matter how far down on the peddle (foot throttle) you push, the tractor is still only going to roll as fast as the gear it's in will allow, forward or reverse." I have heard from users of hydro's that they will roll on their own down hill. Is that what you were refering to? I have not noticed that with my Kubota, down hill I remain the same speed in relation to foot pedel pressure.
P.S. With all those shifts which brand and type of tire lasts the longest for you?

Bradco makes a 3-pt trencher and they are pricy. A west Michigan farm equipment dealer has a used one, all rusted up including the hyd. cyl. shaft for $6000!!!I hired a local excavator to trench 175' for water line I needed run and he charged me a whole $150. It would have been fun to do myself but the math didn't lie.

After reading other posts about oil I went looking closer at labels at the local Farm & Fleet store. Kubota says use a 10W-30 or 10W-40 but all the labels say for "gas engines" on those. The cross referance to oil type to use showed only 15W-40 for diesel. What gives? I am looking for best cold starting lubrication for the winter. Thanks in advance

Let me toss this one into the discussion. It looks as if cold starting is your concern DP so how about synthetics that are rated like 5W-40 or even 0W-40? I do not know if these are rated for diesel but they would seem to have the best cold start protection. I know these oils from a racebike owner friend who was looking for a less sluggish cold running motoroil.

MD, if you find that cheap source for 3-point stuff, let me know. I too have been looking from Lansing to Flint to Grand Rapids and for anything that looks decent is 5% less than brand new. I've tried auctions too, saw a 3-point lift boom go for 50% MORE than new! Saw a Bradco 3-point trencher, rusted cyl. and all for bout the same as new. Good luck, happy hunting (half the fun of it).

We as consumers must demand perfect customer service, otherwise who gets ripped off in the end, US! J.P. don't take anything less than you bargained for. As a matter of fact, demand more cause now your tractor is on their lot probably sold by now and you are without a machine until they find you what they promised.

Thanks for the pointers. I have since found out the hog was assembled wrong in regards to the rear wheel mount. On the HD JD's there are two half moon shaped pieces that go between the deck and wheel mount. The top bolt should be run through the square tubing to the wheel, it was bolted over the tube in the top hole allowing the wheel height to vary as much as 5" while the whole half moon piece would rotate!

Congrats on your new purchase! Now you have orange braggin' rights. I look at those extra hours I want on the tractor as diesel therapy, when I want time to myself and away from the kids and wife, I fire up the diesel and unwind. Have fun.
